Copies of Byrne's official documents as regimental quartermaster of 13th New Jersey Volunteers (1862-1864) and acting assistant quartermaster of 2nd Brigade, 1st Division, 20th Corps (1864-1865); later expanded with notations made as late as 1891 to include journal entries from wartime letters and diaries; notes on 13th Regiment, including information on marches, camps, and officers, and five maps of routes and battle dispositions (1862-1863). Battles include Antietam, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, and Sherman's march to the sea.
